Coral reefs in this area attained
status of National Marine park after many years of hard work of local
residents and ecologists. That resulted to regulations and rules for
protection of this beautiful area.
So motorized water sports ( jet ski,
water ski etc) were prohibited in the resort to protect the reefs. But
for non-motorized water sports..this sea has became a paradise. For
windsurfing, snorkeling or scuba diving. But water sports are not the
only thing this part of Mayan Riviera can offer. You can take a local
tour to jungle or ruins. There are horse back riding trials you can
choose from. For childrens there is a local crocodile and reptile Zoo,
botanical gardens. You can have this place as a base to jump to see
ruins in inland of Yucatan peninsula. There is also one local ruin to
see.
And if you like reading books you can
do so and sun yourself on the beach.
